Project co-ordinators at Murcia: Pedro García Moreno. José Luis Villaescusa Gallego.

The detailed analysis of the spanish coast, province by province, go on. Second destination to complete is Murcia province, in mid east Spain, facing the Mediterranean sea. There will start the record of the audiovisual S.O.S. SPANISH COASTLINE, by the hand of our photography director Alberto Saiz. It will be recorded in High Definition Video and will be presented at european level, as it has happened previously with other of my projects as 100% NATURAL, showed in 8 macroevents in Europe about photography, documentaries and wildlife conservation.
Our project co-ordinators on location are Pedro García Moreno, from ANSE NGO, with a large experience as activist in preserving our natural heritage and José Luis Villaescusa Gallego, press reporter and photographer. Previous to the analysis it has been developed a document with the main agressions to report, as the urbanization in front of El Fraile island, at Águilas and some threatens coming as the crazy Marina Cope project that will destroy the land that was a natural park and was requalyfied to allow build it.

From mid august to mid september Murcia coastline is to be carefully explored to be integrated in this project that will list the places with high landscape values to be urgently protected. We remind we are close to 50 supports from organizations, associations, foundations, Ngo´s, and even enterprises. And there are lots more coming. A crew is working in achieving international endorsement letters.

Soon or late the author of this project will date an interview with the provincial and regional authorities to inform about S.O.S. SPANISH COASTLINE to inform about the aim of the project, the status and threatens on Murcia coastal landscape and the future use of the information, the texts and the photographs.

While so, the rest of the S.O.S. team has organized in working groups, has received new members and is ready for the second stage on this crusade by the integrate heritage of our coast.

The website is being developed by the dessign team and soon you will have the chance to discover what a powerful tool it is. Keep in touch.

(Español) S.O.S. Paisajes de Mar: Análisis de IBIZA

Project co-ordinator at Ibiza: José Antonio Porras.

Eivissa desde puertoWe have started the detailed analysis of the spanish coast, province by province. The first destination to complete is the island of Ibiza, at the Baleares archipelago.

Our project co-ordinator at Ibiza is José Antonio Porras, great photographer and better friend. With the maps, aeroguides and helpful information, the work has been developing with good rythm. Forecast days haven´t been of help for the photographs and limit the best times to half an hour prior to sunrise and after sunset. The rest of the day is dedicated to locate and analyse what has happened there.

Illa de s´Espart. Cala de comte

TO BE PROTECTED: Some islet and and reefs of certain entity create a landscape of great posbilities. The small creeks have an important erosion index.

Since Monday 25th May and for a week I was traveling through these mithic coasts. The surface of the island is bigger of what I expected and the access to the locations sometimes are hard, specially in the best preserved places. Here I count on the help of several photographers of the GFN (Nocturnal Photography Group), I met several years ago in one of my workshops at Cabo Gata. Thanks to them everything is easier to reach and, even, we have made some nocturnal, our speciality. Also I have the support of some dozens of enthusiastic photographers from Ibiza Fotoclub and Ibiza Flickr´s, communities that have helped me and accompanied in several sessions.

From the Consell of Ibiza I have been very well attended, by Ricardo Gómez, from the area of Sports, as well as by Marisol Torres, Manager of Environmental Politics of the Consell d´Eivissa, who with I could see all the hopeful changes that have started to happen in relation with the conservation of the natural areas.

Cala nova. Es canar

AGGRESSION: The area of Es Canar, between Cala Nova and Punta Arabí, with a high landscape value, has suffered the construction of big residential buildings a few meters away from the sea. In some areas where the erosion progresses, the promenade is just 2 meters away from the sea. In days of temporary wave enters the gardens of the urbanisations.

In the meantime, the rest of the S.O.S. team is busy on different tasks, some preparing texts for the book, the website and exhibitions, other in finding supports and help, the dessign team will soon start with the website, and the media to show the results of this project.

Be in touch, briefly we´ll put the complete amazing results of this first prospection of the crusade. The website, which will integrate this blog, is starting to be developed.

NOTE: You can see the photo we are taking for the project in the photos area of this blog or in our Flickr page
